Kerri crowned Miss Universe Kerry
Kerri O’Connor from Killarney was crowned Miss Universe Kerry by reigning Miss Universe Ireland, Lynn Kelly at the Pageant finale in Club Fabric, Tralee, on Friday night. Aifric Rice was announced as the first runner up. Judges on the night were Lynn Kelly, Miss Universe Ireland, Liz Greehy, Editor Stylebible.ie and Paul Galvin, Kerry football star. Pageant organiser, Andrea Roche was unable to make it to the final due to a television commitment, but she reviewed all the finalists profiles and photographs and was instrumental in the final judging.
Kerri will now go forward to represent her county at the Miss Universe Ireland Final in Dublin in June. Miss Universe Kerry was organised by leading Irish Kerry based Agency, Upfront PR, Event and Model Management.
Kerri was sponsored by award winning Fashion Boutique, ENVY in Killarney and Aifric was selected from heats in Kube in Killarney. Upfront would like to thank everyone involved in making the Miss Universe Kerry 2009 such a wonderful success - including our 15 fabulous finalists, heat venues (The Blasket Tralee, Pulse Cahersiveen, Hillgrove Dingle and Kube Killarney) and of course Club Fabric in Tralee for hosting the finale. Special thanks also to Pat O Neill and Tina O Connor for hair, Kathryn O Neill (Daniel Sandler Ireland) and Clair McEvoy for make-up and all the participating fashion boutiques who showcased their SS 09 collections on the night (IOTA, ENVY, Hannons, Kates Couture, Shindig, Karyn Moriarty and Carraig Donn).
Kerri is now available to book for modelling assignments and will grace the runways, along with our other fabulous models, over Kerry Fashion Weekend (April 18th and 19th).
